What is Eccles like to live in?

Located in Greater Manchester, Eccles is a town that is part of the metropolitan borough of Salford. With good public transport links and a relatively low cost of living, Eccles is an accessible and affordable place to live.

Eccles has a metro-link end of line stop in Zone 2 that runs through Salford Quays and MediaCityUK and into Manchester City Centre. Residents have easy access to the motorway network, including the M60 and M602 and Manchester Ring Road via the Eccles interchange 



Greater Manchester’s biggest shopping attraction, the Trafford Centre, is only a few minutes’ drive away with a variety of well-known shops, restaurants and entertainment, including Legoland and the Sea Life Centre. Nearby you have Chill Factor, an indoor skiing and snowboarding slope, and Golf Centre. 

Monton Village has a number of highly regarded local restaurants and independent bars and shops, including family friendly cafes and exciting bars. Close by, West One Retail Park has a number of national retailers and is home to a 24-hour gym

A host of supermarkets, including ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco Express, Aldi and Lidl, are all located within the Eccles area.



Eccles boasts several well-kept public parks, including the excellent Winton Park featuring a playground, outdoor gym and bowling green.

Duke’s Drive is a green space in Monton that takes you onto the Bridgewater Canal loop line and runs alongside the highly regarded Worsley Golf Club.

The AJ Bell Stadium, located in Eccles, is home to the Rugby Super League’s Salford Red Devils.



The majority of the primary and high schools in the Eccles area have achieved Good or Outstanding Ofsted reports, including St Mary’s RC Primary School,Oakwood Academy and St Patrick’s RC High School and Arts College.



Eccles has seen a number of new developments over the last few years, but a majority of the properties are turn-of-the-century terrace housing or semi-detached family homes.

A wide variety of properties from new developments of apartments up to large family homes located in the tree-lined Ellesmere Park. Monton Village has seen significant growth in demand and prices in recent times with the vibrant high street home to many independent retailers.
