Centenary Boards Celebrate Salford at 100

Salford’s centenary celebrations are on display across the city thanks to a special schools competition that invited young people to design artwork marking 100 years of city status.

Hundreds of creative entries were submitted by schools from across Salford, showcasing the talent, pride and imagination of local students. After careful judging, the winning design was created by Jessica from Buile Hill Academy, whose artwork was chosen to represent this historic milestone.

The winning design has now been transformed into a series of centenary boards, which have been printed and installed at locations across Salford. Residents and visitors can spot the colourful displays throughout the city as part of the ongoing celebrations.

The project has provided a fantastic opportunity for young people to play a central role in commemorating Salford’s 100th anniversary, while helping to create a lasting visual reminder of this significant year.
